Here you will find mountains plunging into the sea from hundreds of metres, fjords, tall mountain peaks, northern lights and midnight sun. The mountainous regions abound with broad plateaus and magnificent peaks and the fjords formed when the glaciers receded are unique in the world. Although Norway has small-scale farms compared to many other European countries, it is rich in diversity: from larger dairy and vegetable farms in the southwest; to grain in the southeast; to the central mountain region with a diverse range of farms including traditional summer mountain farming; and to the north, beyond the Arctic Circle, where you can grow very little but where you will find the midnight sun - the summer sunshine gives agricultural produce grown here a delicious flavour.
