Slovakia is located in the heart of Europe, with the Danube River and crop production lowlands in the south and sheep breeding in the mountainous north. Slovakia is a member of the EU and presently enjoys one of the highest economy growths. Slovakia˜s cooperative farms from times before the Velvet Revolution (1989) transferred to private hands and, after significant investment in technology, the country now has one of the largest average farm sizes within the EU. In addition to conventional agriculture such as cattle or corn production, Slovakia also offers the chance to see traditional sheep cheese (Bryndza) or Tokaj wine production.
